About Oasis Crisis Consultants (OCC)

Founded in 2005, Oasis Crisis Consultants, LLC (OCC) is a California Limited Liability Company.  OCC is primarily a consulting agency, providing Emergency Psychiatric Consultations in the Greater Sacramento area.  It provides these consultations through the use of a Mobile Crisis Team.

When a patient is perceived to be in the midst of a psychiatric crisis, attending medical staff contacts the Mobile Crisis Team and requests a consultation.  The primary goal of these consultations is to determine the most appropriate level of care for any given individuals situation.  The Clinician advocates for the lowest level of care consistent with the patient’s needs and presenting symptomatology.  In collaboration with attending medical staff, the appropriate level of care is determined and implemented.

Contracting agencies find that it is more cost-effective to use an On-Call Mobile Crisis Team as opposed to having in-house Social Services staff 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

The Oasis Mobile Crisis team is comprised of Master’s Level, Licensed Clinicians, all of whom possess either a Clinical Social Work License (LCSW) or a Marriage & Family Therapist License (LMFT).  All applicants undergo a rigorous screening procedure before being considered for a Team Position. All applicants must have 2 years of recent experience performing psychiatric evaluations on patients in acute psychiatric crisis or a combination of hospital and other clinical experience that provides them with the needed skills to perform this task.

In this day of transitioning healthcare, Oasis provides a cost-effective alternative to Emergency Psychiatric Assessments.Once paged, Clinicians respond on-site within one hour.  Upon arrival, the Clinician assesses the patient’s potential for harming themselves or others, as well as the patient’s ability to provide for their own basic needs.  The Clinicians are cognizant of the need for Mandatory Reporting and file all appropriate Mandated Reports (CPS, APS, Domestic Violence, Tarasoff and Weapons reporting).

Once the patient has been assessed, the Clinician provides the required clinical management for the patient.  Dispositions cover the spectrum of mental health services available and range from a referral for outpatient therapy to acute inpatient hospitalization in a psychiatric setting.

If you find yourself in the midst of a psychiatric emergency, contact 911 immediately. is of no immediate benefit to those
needing services for the management of a psychiatric emergency.
